Can the tool perhaps be updated to ignore the NAV 2013 services as they are not supported. I realize I don't need this tool for NAV 2013 however I desperately need this tool to be available on my machine with 2009 and 2013 installed together. Right now I'm buggered because of the error that is generated from the 2013 services. :(

    Dears,

I will use the tol to create an new service instance on the server.
When I will create the new service the following error appears:
Create Service Error: There are problems to copy Files from the Base Version to the Destination folder.

Is it possible to also support NAV2013.
    Why?
-If you have a mixed environment (NAV2009+NAV2013), you need to use to tools to configure all.
-When we will have multiple builds on NAV2013, I think (didn't test it) that the native tool will have some problems because creating a new servicetier will probably take the installed build and not the one we need.

Love the new design! I love that it supports NAV2013 as well, very helpful and handy. =D>

I'm chuckling over the timing, as I just recorded yesterday a 'how to setup multiple 2009 service tiers' instructional video using the (now) previous version. I'll have to re-create it tonight using the new one.

This is such a nice tool. Thank you for creating it.

One very minor suggestion for improvement: I would love to be able to change the service name from 'Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server [database]' to something shorter, like 'NAV 6 [database]'. The longer name requires a wide column just to see the database name.

Oh yeah, I really like the new interface. It's a nice improvement over the old one. Thanks again!

I like the new version but (you knew it was coming) 2 things. One how can I "remove" a column. I have tried everything I can think of. Two, when you "group" a column the groups are always expanded. It lookes like it collapses then expands right away. Am I doing something wrong?
  • clienauclienau Member Posts: 57
I enable the FieldChooser in the next release to change the visibility of columns.

It could be that i have implement an auto expand. I look at the code and solve it in the next version.

    Best Regards.

    Hi

    Thanks for a great tool!

I have a problem with adding NST Version paths on Windows Server 2012.
When i add the NST's and press close they just disappear.

Do you know if there are any compatibility problems with Server 2012?

    Thanks.

I love this tool very much and want to say "Thank You!!!" =D>

Moreover i would appreciate one more feature  - possibility to configure/change dependencies of the services.

I seem to be having a strange issue when I create a new set of NAV 2009 services. The application seems to hang when I do this and needs to be manually killed.

It appears to be related to how I have my service tier folders configured. I have set my NAV 2009 service tier folders up similar to the structure that NAV 2013 uses, meaning that inside the main service tier folder I have a folder named "Instances" where within that is a folder for each service instance that I've created.

From what I can see, when the app is creating the folder for the new service instance, it gets into trouble when it is copying the files. It appears to be picking up the files within the "Instances" folder and goes nuts.

When I do this with the older version (v1.x) of the app I do not have this issue, nor do I have this issue in the current version when creating NAV 2013 services, even though the folder structure is the similar.

=D> Thanks for adding the ability to change the default name of the services. This is such a great tool. I'm using it with clients even if they only have one service.

    Fantastic application!

Hi, when using the administration to remotely administer another server (with multiple services) - when i run the "Start RTC", I'm getting an error: "Configuration file required {0}:"

How do I resolve this error?
  • BarzogBarzog Member Posts: 5
I found the solution myself - I hadn't installed the RTC client for the service I tried to open.

    however.. I have another question:

Is it possible to "lock down" the user interface, so my consultants can use this in a developer environment - without the options of changing any settings in the services (or adding new ones)?

Also, I'd love to be able to specify which server to administer by setting a default value somewhere - as of now, it defaults to "localhost" when restarting the program.

I am installing an extra servicetier that uses "Credential Type"=NavUserPassword.
I run the RTC from the administration tool, but it doesn't work.

I think these keys are missing in the .config settings used by the RTC:

    <add key="ClientServicesCredentialType" value="NavUserPassword" />
    ...
    <add key="DnsIdentity" value="NavServiceCert" />

Changing the standard file with these keys, I can log into NAV.

So probably the tool needs to change a little to support this possibility. Or did I forget some setup?
