Automatic Updates screwing up printer selections

Hi guys,
I have a client who is running Navision and has a massive printer selection setup. And it is working beautifully. But their HQ is on a regular basis updating their operating system and when that is done, it screws up their printer selections. Because the printer names get changed for some reason. for example the printer name "\\printserv\HP9000,Ne04:" gets changed to "\\printserv\HP9000,Ne02:". And this results in reports being printed to wrong printers and they constantly need to update their printer selection.
Has anybody got any suggestions here?

No, they don't have any IP addresses in their Printer Selection table.Elmar F. Vidisson

I am not sure how you get IP addresses for your printers. Is that something every printer is capable of doing or do you need a special printer for that? If we change to the IP addresses will that be more likely to retain it during these updates?Elmar F. Vidisson

You can use IP address instead of "\\printserv\HP9000,Ne04:"
You are right, not every printer has IP address.0 -
search the download section for example how to modify CU1 to ignore the Nexx suffix when searching for printer...0
