Company Department Contact-Persons (Nav 4)

Hello,

our company as some very big clients with a lot of departmant (up to 100). Then in this departments we have some (up to 20) business contacts.

For our quotes and bills we want to adress:
Customer
Department
Person

I can't find any good solution to that in simple and near to standard why. What I would like to is more or less:
More than one entry in the contact table type::company can have a relation to a customer.

Do you have any good suggestions for this problem?

    Where you want the address in this format ?

    In quote form ? Quote document ?

    My wish would be to have it in the Sales Header to use however I want.
    More ore less I want to pick a customer. Choose a department of this customer and then choose a contact person of this department.

    Ok,

    That involves some custom development, to automatically filter contacts from company and department. By right now Navision only filters contacts by company.

    What kind of data would be the department. Would you place it somewhere related to the customer table (like shipping Adress) or in the contact table. Type::company or person or new type department?

    I don't think dimensions are the solution to your problem. So I suggest using another way.

    Create a new table "Customer Department"
    Add a new field to Contact.
    For every contact assign department.

    Add a new field in Sales Header - Customer Department.
    And every time you select a customer a department It will filter Contact list by customer and department.

    Just a possible solution.

    Thanks so far. I will think about it...
    Problem is, that i have to avoid stupid things like person is company A and in department 1 from company B...

    If "Customer Department" table has 3 fields
    "Customer No." And Depart. Code, Description
    you can force correct customer/department
