Now we have some customer payment. and the payment will be used for some special purpose, such as deposit etc. That is to say, the payment in customer ledger entry need some specical flag. It is not allowed to be applied to any sales invoice unless the flag is removed.
Is there any way to make this happened in Nav 4 SP1? Thanks.

I don't think there is any such functionality available. but if have application method = manual on customer card then user can make the application maually and select the invoice which he wants to apply.0

hello,
like bob said...
also, you could post the payment through the cash receipt journal with a description such as "deposit for Sales Order XXXXXX" or something, so when users are in the cust. ledger entries, they will see that this open payment is for something specific and not misapply it.kind of fell into this...0 -
There's a field on the Customer Ledger called On Hold. You can mark that this payment is on hold for your purpose. However, you'll need to ask a developer to come in to give an error message if someone tries to apply to it.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

You can also create a new table to post the transaction of Deposit nature in new table instead of Cust. Ledger entry.CA Sandeep Singla

Thanks, guys.
The suggestion to use the field On-hold is a good idea, which may reduce the customization workload.0 -
