Removing Item tracking on products

Hi all!

Is there anyone who knows how to remove item tracking on items? You could add the items again without tracking but that would delete important statistical data. Is there any other way?

Regards

    there is 2 aways.

    1 - Clean Way :)

Using inventory journal, put to zero the item.
    Rename the item
Create a new Item with old code
Using inventory journal, increase new item (attention to cost)

2 – Delete tracking entries. You follow this way, you must know what you are doing because the several tables to change / delete (tracking from orders, shipments, several ledger entries, etc),

    No,

    1 – Create a backup.
2 – Create a codeunit to remove item tracking entries from all related tables.

keep away from using direct SQL, it’s dangerous.

If you need further assistance to know witch tables you must do the modifications. I can help you.

    What is your current NavisionVersion?

    Warehouse functionalities that you have?
    Do you have manufacturing?

    I use Navision 3.70.

    Yes I am using manufacturing.

I am not using warehouse management, pretty much standard inventory usage.

    Kind regards

If I'm not missing any table, and based in your current setup.

You need to delete or change the following tables.

    Item Ledger Entries
    Value Entry Relation
    Reservation Entry
    Item Entry Relation

There are other related tables but they are only used in warehouse functionality.

Please don't do this unless you really know what you are doing.

Yes David Singleton, it's a dangerous process, it can corrupt the database and it’s an irreversible method.

Forgot to mention: Pay attention if you have the costing method “Specific”
