Associated Purchase/Sales Orders

Hi,

Is it possible to disassociate a purchase order from a sales order once they're connected?

    Most things are possible. How are they connected and why do you want to disconnect them?

    Hi,

    It's a question from a customer, I'm only asking for any ways to do this that don't involve modifying objects. I think basically they want to change the quantities on the sales order and prepare another purchase order at some point.

    On the purchase line you can zoom in to see which fields are populated with the Sales Order# & Sales Line #. Add these to the Purchase line so they can be cleared. Therefore breaking the connection to the sales order. The same way goes for the sales line - it has a po field linking it.

    We noticed this because sometime we kill an order and you can't delete the damn purchase line that was created because you get the error message saying you can't do it. But once we clear the (for us)
    "Special order Sales No." & "Special Order Sales Line No" we are able to delete the line.

    But there are other possible fields

    By default, the Sales Order Line No. on the Purchase line is not editable so I guess you may still need to get that changed. Once you break the link you can do what you like but be careful as the results are not always what you expect.
    If you have received part receipt than you are not able to change it anyway unless the code is changed to allow it.

    This nonsense comes up quite regularly and most sites where linked orders are used get modified to allow changes.
