Action Messages MRP

Hi,

I have started to work with Navision. Well in fact we are making some tests before to start.

I have run a MRP and i have get only two action messages, "new" and "cancel".
The systems says that i have to cancel one order and create a new one changing the date, but if you have already placed an order to one supplier, I don't think is logical to cancel this one and create another.
Is possible to get for example for this order "Re-schedule" instead of "Cancel".

I think the message "Cancel" is neccesary only if this item is don't really needed right now, but if the neccesary action is to advance or delay the order or maybe change the quantity the action message should be "re-schudele" or "change quantity".

Anyone knows how to get this?

On purchase lines there a field called Planning Flexibility

This option field indicates the flexibility of the purchase order line when the program calculates action messages.

If the field contains the option Unlimited, then the program includes the line when calculating action messages.

If the field contains the option None, then the line is firm and unchangeable, and the program does not include it when calculating action messages.

As far as I understand that issue, MRP calculates demand and supply per period. If you have an order for 5 Item A in period 1, and there is no demand for it, MRP will create the cancel action message, even though there might be demand for the same item for the same quantity in the next period.
