Simulated entries

Hi

Does anyone know how (if at all) can I create some simulated bank entries and then transform then into "real entries" in the Portuguese version?

My client wants to have a real time knowledge of how much cash there is in the bank, but has to wait for the definitive bank documents to post.

Can’t you simply use the chart of accounts?

If you 1) set a different G/l Account to each Bank Account 2) set those accounts as reconciliating accounts 3) enter all the entries related to the same journal batch then you can see the projected balance under Reconcile.

Only drawback is you have to be careful about posting - when the statement arrives, filter on a posting date range, post, remove the filter.

Isn't there online banking in Portugual? Why not just log in online and take a peek? :-k

Thanks, Miklos, that´s a great idea.

deadlizard... I've asked them about online banking and their reply was that when they send a check someatimes it takes a long time to show in the bank account
