Attach files to Sales Quotes / Orders

dfredrickdfredrick Member Posts: 6
We have an electronic fax solution that we would like to be able to attach the faxes to our Sales Quotes in NAV 4.0 P3. We've been told by our Navision partner that there is no native way of doing this... I've read through the threads and see there are native ways to attach the files as Blob's in NAV, but not sure if that is true for Sales Quotes and Sales Orders. Could we use Dimensions or other fields to store these electronic documents? They are important to our business to have these fax documents (PDF files) attached to the Sales Order.

Thanks in advance.

You have three simple options I can see.

1/ through contact manager you have the ability to attached documents, this can very easily be modified to support your fax documents, f you have the Particular granule in your license.

2/ Use the add on called MatriksDoc www.matriksdoc.com this is probably the most installed Add-On ever written for Navision. Its is extremely easy to install it, and its not too expensive.

3/ Wait a few months for 5.0, and upgrade the executables to get Document link functionality.

    Personally I would recommend matriksdoc.

Also I find it very odd that if you asked your NSC this, then they should at least have recommended 1 or 2. Did they offer you a solution, or just a blank "NOT POSSIBLE"

With "native" they probably meant "out of the box" or "not without programming".

We use MatriksDoc at several clients. I find it to be a great product and easy to work with. Unlike many other solutions that simply point to your documents on a drive somewhere, MatriksDoc imports them into your Navision database as image data. This means your documents are backed up along with your database
There are no bugs - only undocumented features.
