problem with insert

hi all, happy new year
my first problem of the new year,
is it possible to tell navision to do an insert without locking a table from a form? i am looping through a process and inserting records into a table,
and another process is making updates, these two processes affect mutually exclusive recordsets so i need to prevent the system from locking the table when process one wants to insert records so that process two can update the records
