Save Reports To Excel

Run a report, click save as html, and change the file extension to .xls.
You will be able to open and manipulate the cells in Excel!
One thing you will find is that cells that should be discrete are occasionally merged.
Be sure to select all of the cells and un-tick the merge cells format property.
Total excel control -- the execs love it.

Haven't tried this yet, but I'm pretty sure all of this can be done programatically with the Saveashtml function in reports.
Once that's done, the excel spreadsheet could be opened with an automation, and even more fun stuff done that way!0 -
This is the same as if you saved the file as .html and opened it using Excel.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

Be sure to design the report to look like a perfect grid, without any gaps. It will help.0

The topic is old and i'm new here...
I solve this by creating a textfile with a semicolon as seperator and naming the file as a .CSV. After the textfile has been closed it is executed with HYPERLINK. If csv-files are linked to Excel it opens it and asks for the seperator (usually a comma is used for CSV).
This opens the file in Excel and you can work with it as usual.0 -
