Changing Fonts on the Customized PO Print Out

LittleJohnLittleJohn Member Posts: 12
Hi,

Could anybody tell me why changing the Font Name of a Text or Label does not work, for instance from default to Arial or Times New Roman etc., on the report design window. I am new to Navi and we are on Version 4 SP1 W1. The first customization I was asked to make is to change the Purchase Order print out(Purchasing ->order processing ->orders->print).

On the Sections view, I opened up the property page of a single text or label object, then the Font Name was accepted(saved) after I changed it to Arial. But after compiled it, the print preview or print out were still unchanged. I also tried from File -> Page Setup -> change Font before I click Print to the printer, NO LUCK.

Your ideas are appreciated.

You cannot change the properties for all the controls at one time. You can change only one, then other etc. To see it working, change the font and save the report. Then close the report and reopen it. Normally it will work.

Thanks for your comments, actually I did change only ONE text or ONE Label a time for the testing. It just not changed.

Is it same for all the documents or only for PO?

    Hi LittleJohn,
If you can see the change immediately after you design, save and compile it I think there is no problem of your process. This problem is probably caused by your license file. Maybe you have no right of design in your license. You can check it out.

    Thanks Cunny,

To be honest, I think the navision licensing is quite complicated. I don't know whether your idea is true or not, but with my license, I can open up the Section designer, I can add/delete text fields and labels, I can even modify the Font Size then get the modified output. The system accepted my new Font name property, BUT the output does not change.

This is not something related with license. If you can design reports then you have the report designer and could make whatever you want.

Did you try to change the font properties by code? If the result is the same, I think you can try this in a different database or uninstall and reinstall Navision.

Thank you ufuk, I did not try using coding. Actually I have a production server and a testing server here and I tried on both servers, same result. I know it should be a VERY simple case just as we change Fonts in Visual Basic or something, but as a new user to Navision this is really frustrating. #-o

    Dear Littlejohn
It will certainly work , what you are doing is correct, even i tried the same way. Do let me know if you are using the same way & still away from your answer

Thank you, mbskapil. I do have this problem pending here.

When you change your font, can you view the changes when previewing it or printing it out?
