Navision Binary Object File Viewer
Simple and straight-forward, and not nearly as advanced as Michael Weigand's fob-viewer, this little application allows you to view .fob and .fbk files.

    Jan,

    Wouldn't it be nice to be able to access the view option directly using a (not yet present) toolbar?

    Actually, I have tried that. It looked a bit silly, because the toolbar would have only two buttons. Besides, if you are using the mouse to sort the data anyway, you may as well click the column headers...

    Still, I will keep your suggestion in mind. Thx, mate!

    Good point! I'll do my best fix that in the next version. Could you send me an example of a Russian .fob-file, and a screenshot of what these names should look like?

    Did you place the cfront.dll in the same folder as the executable, and does you license give you access to C/Front?

    sure, cfront.dll nbofv.exe and *.fob files are in one directory.
    is license should be in the same directory?
  • jhoekjhoek Member Posts: 216
    Yes, certainly. To be absolutely safe, copy fin.etx, fin.stx, slave.exe, dbm.dll, nc_tcp.dll, nc_netb.dll, and fin.flf from a 3.70 installation (since cfront.dll version 3.70 is included) to the folder in which nbofv.exe resides.

    Simple and straight-forward, and not nearly as advanced as Michael Weigand's fob-viewer, this little application allows you to view .fob and .fbk files. Either pass a file name as a command line parameter, associate this viewer with .fob and .fbk files, select File|Open from the menu or drag & drop a file from Explorer.

    Features:
    - C/SIDE 4.0 object type-compatible;
    - Sorting;
    - Hiding system objects;
    - Exporting a list of objects as a text file;
    - Viewing license permissions per object.

    IMPORTANT: You need to install C/FRONT (Navision SDK) and copy the CFRONT.DLL file into the same directory as nbofv.exe.

    Note: Includes sources

    It seems that using multiple characters sets is a bit more difficult that I initially thought, so don't hold your breath. :wink:
