Change Log

I have a very query pertaining to change log entry in Navision.
Actually, I added Item (Table 27) in the Change Log Setup , to log changes on Insertion, Modification and Deletion.
Thenafter, I inserted a new item. But the insertion entry of the same is nowhere to be seen the table.
Now I have two queries :
1. Does the Change Log Entry table stores changes pertaining to the structure of the table or the changes in data.
2. If data related changes are stored, what setup is to be done for that..
Thanks in advance
