SQL Server : Login failed

jorgitojorgito Member Posts: 115
Hi all!

We use Navision 4 with SQL Server 2000 and Windows authentication. Most of the computers have WinXP and some Win2k.

Sometimes, when we try to connect to the server, we get the following message:

[SQL Server] Login failed for user (null). Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.

So we have to connect using SQL Server authentication.

Over time, the problem gets solved by itself and we are able to connect using Windows authentication.

What is the meaning of this error? How can it be solved?

Thanx
Jorgito

Please, install hotfix 1 for 4.00 or SP1. Version 4.00 without updates has problems with Windows Auth.

I do not know the the reason for the requested problem but there are two critical issues with using Navision 4.00 SP1, SQL Server and windows authentication:

If there is no WindowsLogin arranged, every User with WindowsLogin has access without limitations

If WindowsLogin is arranged, noch User with WindowsLogin gains access

So perhaps you should check this in a test enviroment before
