Full upgrade path from 22 to 23

What is the recommended way to do a full upgrade of a live system (On-Premise) from BC 22 to the latest release available now?
May I know whether there is a step by step guide somewhere?
I searched and came across only the Technical upgrade guidelines. My understanding is that this is different from a full upgrade ??

There is a step by step guide on Microsoft learn:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/dev-itpro/upgrade/upgrade-unmodified-application-to-v23
For help, do not use PM, use forum instead, perhaps other people have the same question, or better answers.1 -
For BC on-prem, it’s not a single jump upgrade. You need a step upgrade path.
Recommended approach:
Upgrade BC22 → BC23 (base)
Then apply latest cumulative updates on 23
If large customization, consider intermediate steps (21/22 → 23) depending on compatibility
Key steps:
Full database backup
Run upgrade toolkit + data upgrade
Recompile extensions / fix breaking changes
Test everything in sandbox before production
Also note:
👉 Technical upgrade ≠ full functional upgrade
👉 You may need data + extension adjustments separately
If it’s a complex system, do it in stages, not one-shot to avoid breaking extensions.
