For a Business Central 14, CU 4 we are creating an extension that needs to load some js and display a website.
Inspired by the https://simplanova.com/blog/step-by-step-guide-to-javascript-control-add-in/ we have created the components, and it works as expected in the webclient. However in the classic client that some of the users will be using, it just gives a short flash and goes back to grey as if it was an uneditable field. We can see that the code is running, and the expected data is sent to the website through our javascript, but it would be nice if the users could see it as well
Any hints, guides or suggestions on how I can get the classic client to load and show the website are greatly appreciated.

We did not. That walkthrough descripes how to create a dll that you can use in the web client.
Our scenario is that we only need to be able to use a single js file, we do not need a full project. Also the js file works fine on the web client, it is only the classic client that will not display the website that is being loaded.
You need change the setting of Internet Explorer.
Close all RTC Clients before change the setting
