How to filter using parent category

in NAV Three Tier
We are using item categories and would like to filter item list by parent category in order to list all the items belonging to subcategories of the specific parent category.

    You can only filter by item category. We would like to list all the items belonging to certain parent category. For example, if the parent IC is Table, and the IC assigned to specific items are wooden tables, plastic tables...how to achieve to list all the tables.
