Is the NAS Going Away in 2018?

in NAV Three Tier
With the NAV Job Queue switched over to using the Task Scheduler in 2017, I thought I had read an article that hinted that the NAS might be going-away in future versions of NAV. But try as I might, I can't find that reference again (Bad internet! Bad!).

Anybody got any insight they can share about this topic of National Security importance? ;)

And also, if they are getting rid of the NAS, how is ADCS supposed to work? Or did they move that over to Task Scheduler too in 2017 while I wasn't looking?

    ADCS wasn't using NAS. It was using webservice a long time ago. NAS is now TASK Scheduler.

    Now you can put your own task into the scheduler by code, but if you use job queue, it puts the task in for you.

    Ok, well that answers my question about ADCS, thanks! But I have some custom code (not Job Queue-based) that uses the NAS, and the customer is making noises about Upgrading once 2018 comes out in a few months.

    So, does anyone know if I will still be able to depend on the existence of the "NAS" Tab on the Service Tier; or is it going the way of the Dodo Bird?

    I don't know if the NAS Tab is going away? But I have 2 customers up and running on 2017, and i havent used that Tab yet.
    I use the Job Queue and the Task Scheduler system directly, and thats all i need.

    You may need to adabt your code and system to the new features, but i dont think you will come up short.

    I know the NAS Tab AND Task Scheduler are both available in 2017. And I know that I can (probably) rebuild my code to use TS instead of NAS; but that STILL doesn't answer my question, sorry!

    I thought the task scheduler allows you schedule a task just once - after it is executed, the task is deleted.
    The job queue is used for repetitive processes.

    No the job queue still exists, and uses task scheduler.
    So all is doable, that's why I don't quit understand the question.
    Because everything is possible in latest version, but it proberbly has to be refactored to fit.

    You can expect to do an upgrade and move everything one to one.

    I KNOW what the Job Queue is. I KNOW what the Task Scheduler is.

    What I DON'T know is whether Microsoft is going to DO AWAY with the NAS in NAV 2018!!!

    Can SOMEONE answer THAT question, PLEEEEEZE!!!!!

    Oh, I am SURE that isn't REALLY the case, being as it is AUGUST, and NAV 2018 will be in everyone's lap in about 2 months...
