Hi
I'm upgrading NAV2016 to NAV2017, using this guide : https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics-nav/upgrading-the-data
But when I have done "Task 5: Convert the old database to the Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017 format", and trying to do TASK 6 "Connect a Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017 Server instance to the converted database", i'm getting stuck, when the database version is still 9.xxxxxxxxx.
ERROR : "Message: <ii>The Microsoft Dynamics NAV Admin tool can only manage version 10.0. The ServerInstance 'MicrosoftDynamicsNavServer$DynamicsNAV90' is Version '9.0.45834.0'.</ii>"
I tried to connect it to the old 2016 server instance, but then this error comes :
"The NAV90_Upgrade database on the NAVSQL01 server cannot be opened by this version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV because the database is too recent."
Can someone help me out here - Thanks
/Kenneth

you need to edit the DynamicsNAV100 service and add the converted db name and start the service. not DynamicsNAV905

After step 5. database will be of version 10 and not 9.-1
-
In step 5, the Development enviroment converted the database, and then tried to start the service with 2017 Server Administration Tool.... and get the error : The Microsoft Dynamics NAV Admin tool can only manage version 10.0. The ServerInstance 'MicrosoftDynamicsNavServer$DynamicsNAV90' is Version '9.0.45834.0'
Attached is a screenshot from 2017 Server Administration Tool... se the version numbers.

I couldn't read that in the guide, or I missed it.
