Disclaimer: This post is about the color design in NAV 2013, NOT about the functionality.

Hi All!
Have you seen the new design of 2013 R2!?!? It looks so ugly!! I think Microsoft should shoot their conceptual designer of Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012!
I know those operating systems and the office suit is part of the conceptual design but I never thought that they should incorporate this in the Dynamics suite :(

2013 looked really HOT and now they have demolished it. It is embarrassing to look at  . Perhaps a design hotfix soon? [-o<

What do you think (see attached picture)?
Hello IT, have you tried to turn it off and on?
Have you checked the cables?
Have you released the filters?

I don't like those blue squares either. Maybe if they were a bit smaller, but like this it looks completely wrong.

Might be that after using it longer I get used to it (i.e. do not see it anymore ), but the first time I saw it I thought: it has to be like this as all MS product have to follow, but I wonder if people in in NAV core team in Vedbaek are crying inside.

    Hi

the only positive thing is that with this design, if you go to invoice or order cards, you can see more than 3 lines
And the Web client looks better (for me).

But ... the client is very .... white

I got used to it now, after a while. When I go back to 2013 the cue icon's look like the are from the 1980's to me.

I agree that the metro style icons could be a little more colorful and the blue cues take up way to much real estate.

    +1 :lol::lol:

Maybe the next step will be a black/Green screen like AS400, and work in terminals.

The customer icon is similar to the icons I used in my firsts VB6 developments. I think there exist in Office 97 CD ... I'll try to find it.

The metro style cues are an improvement. They look better. But they should be smaller and I want to determine the color.

Would be great if I could set them to green, orange and red to indicate KPI colors.

I would love to know if with R2 we will see shortcut keys. That is a big bane with the 2013 web client, the lack of any shortcutkeys makes it hard to use and users do not like that. If R2 web client has shortcut keys, it won't matter what it looks like as much.

I like the new tiles. But I agree on the fact they could be smaller...

    Web pages ... very few.

Web Applications ... lots ... including Outlook web access.

+55 (or more) on the color and size of the tiles (and the color of the status bar). Way to dominant

    Otherwise OK so far.

    I agree with the topic.

As a user I do prefer the previous version (NAV 2013) design rather than NAV 2013R2. Despite technical changes, which are fine, layout is less user-friendly and monotone.

What's the point of color display's with the GUI of NAV2013R2 and Office 2013? Why take away almost all contrast in the GUI? I've spent quite some time with R2 now, but I still think the older color scheme is a lot more efficient. I would like to see the documentation of the benefit behind the switch to the flat low-contrast and bright GUI in Office365 and NAV2013R2

I'll guess the next version will have black text on black background... (or maybe MS has hired some new people on the GUI department until then)

(and Yes. The tiles should support conditional formatting)

That would be nice indeed. :)

I like the design of R2. More professional and modern look.
