We have the following situation:
The allowed period for posting in general ledger is 01.09.12..31.10.12.
In user setup for specific user we have 01.10.12..31.10.12
when trying to post document in November with posting date in October (backdated) the following error occurs:
Posting date is not within your range of allowed posting dates in Item Line Journal.
Any idea?

Check the Allow posting from/to fields in the Item Line Journal Template. That is the 3rd level where these posting dates can be restricted. No support using PM or e-mail - Please use this forum. BC TechDays 2024: 13 & 14 June 2024, Antwerp (Belgium)0

And just a stupid question: the posting date is in October of year 2012?0

Where do we set allowed posting dates for Item Journal Line template?
The year is 2012, of course

My best is on your cost adjustment process. Change teh user specific set to 01.09.12..31.10.12 or your general ledger setup to 01.10.12..31.10.12.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog
AP Commerce, Inc. = where I work

The client does not want to allow the specific user by mistake to post document with sep date and related to the gl setup, it has to be open since some backdated (sep) data is still entered by other departments.0

Then set the Automatic Cost Adjustment on the Inventory Setup to Never.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

The client should use the posting allowed from/to the opposite way around.vasam wrote:The client does not want to allow the specific user by mistake to post document with sep date and related to the gl setup, it has to be open since some backdated (sep) data is still entered by other departments.
Set the posting dates in the G/L Setup to October and for the users who have exceeded posting right to Sep/Oct.0
