Although the maximum advertised cache memory for Navision's proprietary Database Server is 1 GB, there is a known bug which sometimes prevents values above 800 MB from being used.
Im currently experiencing this. Im experiencing slower running reports, etc. Below sone specs,
Thanks, FAIZEL

Upgrade client and Server to 3.70B (not internal navision objects, only program installations).
Split database into more disks according to microsoft-navision recommendations. Optimize Keys and all critical procedure (ex posting routines to reduce table locking time).
Evaluate to upgrade database engine to SQLServer.

Could there be any issue with 3.10a and server2003 ?
May there are patches, etc, one needs to apply,
this installlation does have server2003 sp1, but no patches/hotfixes
applied to 3.10a.0 -
Does anyone have any information on the "known error", which seems to be solved in 3.70B? I haven't been able to find anything in the 3.70B change log or partnersource.
And how does the problem show, is it impossible to start the server or is it slow to use?Regards

It does startup,
but is slow in reports, I thought increasing the dbms cache might help,
but it won go above 796343

What do you mean by it wont go above 796343? So it starts up when you specify 1gb, but it only shows 796343 in the Databaseinformation window? Or can you messure that it is very slow unless you set it under this value?
I'm using 3.70A with 1gb dbms cache, and it seems to work ok in Databaseinformation, but would of course like it to be faster.Regards

If I specify a value above 796343 than the service does NOT startup
'..operating system error 87...'
