Although the maximum advertised cache memory for Navision's proprietary Database Server is 1 GB, there is a known bug which sometimes prevents values above 800 MB from being used.
Im currently experiencing this. Im experiencing slower running reports, etc. Below sone specs,

Upgrade client and Server to 3.70B (not internal navision objects, only program installations).
Split database into more disks according to microsoft-navision recommendations. Optimize Keys and all critical procedure (ex posting routines to reduce table locking time).
Evaluate to upgrade database engine to SQLServer.

May there are patches, etc, one needs to apply,
this installlation does have server2003 sp1, but no patches/hotfixes
applied to 3.10a.
And how does the problem show, is it impossible to start the server or is it slow to use?
Peter
but is slow in reports, I thought increasing the dbms cache might help,
but it won go above 796343

I'm using 3.70A with 1gb dbms cache, and it seems to work ok in Databaseinformation, but would of course like it to be faster.
