Hi Experts,

Please help me with the following questions
1)Can we have more than 8 dimensions(2 global & 6 shortcut dimensions) in the system.?
Also what is the difference between global & shortcut dimensions?

    Yes.

    Global Dimensions - 2
    Short cut Dimensions - 6
    and you can add additional dimensions to Documents and Journals at the time of create /Post.

    Global Dimensions will directly store in the Ledger Tables - G/L Entry, Cust Led Entry, Item Ledger Entry. that means directly filtering these dimensions in the Reports , you can get the Values.

    ShortCut Dimensions will not store in the Ledger Tables which i explained above.

    But please, do you really need so many dimensions? It looks like good thought first, but it could be problematic. Each dimension means database grow, need to enter the dimensions on different point even it doesn't make sense etc. If there is way to not use some dimension you plan to use, do not use it. Reporting could be done in different ways...
