Anyone used a navision tool named nettest?

briannavisionbriannavision Member Posts: 4
Hello,
I have a client whose navision server is crashing. I receive an error message "The server is not responding anymore (TCP/IP error ECONNRESET)." I have found some post for this problem on mibuso that refer to a tool named nettest. I cannot find this tool on any Navision cd. Has anyone used this tool, and know where I can get it?

Thanks

To do a nettest, you should do the following:

create a new form with a wizard, based on the table "Performance". You can't select this table in the list ... you'll have to type it in.

when you put all fields in the form, and press "Preview", you get two records, e.g.:
    No. Name Value Unit
0 NetTest with 100 byte packets 1400 Packets per second
1 NetTest with 4000 byte packets 401 Packets per second

Now, how should you interprete these results? Well, I read once that the second line should have a minimum of 400 packets per second. If less, the network is too slow.

PS, this only works on a Native server!

    Hope this helps.

NetTest was a tool which was shipped with older versions of Navision (2.xx)
In newer versions there exists the virtual table "Performance" for which you can design a form via the Object designer.
