I want to install 5.0 client SP1 on Windows 2008 Enterprise 64-bit Server, but I have
received the error:

assembly component {98CB24AD-52FB-DB5F-A01F-C8B3B9A1E18E}. HRESULT:0x800736CC.

I have search from web, but still cannot find what exactly the solution.

You need the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 x86 Redustributable Package:

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en

First install the package, after this Navision

    Please note:
On a 64 bit system you need both packages (x86 & x64) of the Redistributable Package.

:-k i only know the problem if the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 x86 Redustributable Package" is missing.
But u said, that u have install it on your 32bit machine.... if it is a x64 you need bot Redistributable Packages. But u sai you are under x86 :-k

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en

PS: also make sure, that the .net framework is installed and that u have permissions to install NAV

    Hi garak,

I'm using IBM server and installed the windows server 2008 32bit.
I already install the "vcredist_x86.exe" that i d/l from microsoft.
I cannot install the "vcredist_x64.exe" because it says its not supporrted by the processor.

So, where did i do wrong?

The vcredist_x64.exe (or the variant for the AMD 64bit processor) is only needed if u have a 64bit processor. But in your first post you wrote, that u have a x86 (32bit). So, i have no other idea i must see the server :-( to find the problem. Is there a administrator in your firm or did you have connections to a Navision partner or can u submit a supportrequest to MS?

    Hi garak,

    Thanks for the quick response.
Yes you're right, the server is 32bit. Thats why i only manage to i install the "vcredist_x86.exe"
But now i will try to install .net framework 3.5
If still cannot install then i think i need to ask microsoft again about this.

    Thanks

    Hi garak,

Is there any NAV 5.1 that specially released for win server 2008?
Because i'm using NAV 5.1 CD that i already install and working on win server 2003.

    Thanks in advance

I am having the same problem. I am using Windows 2008 Server R2 Standard. I have installed the vcredist_x86 and vcredist_x64 to no avail. I am running the install as administrator. Anyone have other suggestions?

    Hi All,
Is there any solution for this?
I already uninstall, and try new Install Windows 2008 Standard Edition 64 Bit.
I already install both Redistribute Package from Windows (x86 and X64) from garak's link above.
Then i install the NAV 5 SP1, still have the same errors
    ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)
I think my last option is to change my client's license from 2008 to 2003.

But i still hoping to solve this problems.
    Any idea???

    Thanks in advance
