What is the point of Unit of Measure in Production BOM?

I tried setting a different unit of measure on the production BOM, however, when the production order is refreshed, it still calculates based on the base unit of measure.

What is the purpose of allow you to change the unit of measure on the production BOM?

Yes it does so.

Purpose is : Irrespective of item's Base unit of measure and i want calculation of Line Component's quantity to be calculated relative to some other UOM. Then it comes handy.

E.g. (Keep Base UOM as Pc); Have 2 UOM for FG where 1 Box= 10 Pcs . Now create a production order for 1 PC then the Line component will be .2 if BOM header says UOM as BOX and BOM line has qty per as 2.

Actually this comes in good use when same has one more than 2 relations than using versions u can have multiple UOMs and calculation based on them.

No it doesn't.

Try it. Set the production BOM with a UOM of BOX (BOX = 10 EACH).

Go to Firm Planned production order, fill in the item number. Fill in the Quantity and Location Code. Now click on Functions -> Refresh.

You will see that the UOM on the lines will be in EACH.

My example was for purpose: If u have 1Box (FG) = 1Pc(RM) as requirement. and 1 box (FG)= 10 Pc(FG). And if u create production order of 1 Pc of FG (which in any case will be even if u select Box) Then requirement will be divided by 10.
