What is a safe numbe of dimensions ?
Is there are restiction on the number of dimensions that can be used in NAV 5.0 efficiently.
Any opinions.

You can use (with the right license option) as many dimensions as you want.
Of course, more you have dimensions, more the setup is complexe because people cannot insert too many dimensions each time they insert a new element in Navision. You'll have to manage the rules.
Try first to understand really the needs, the most complexe activities don't need more than 4 dimensions (for instance a really complete analysis can be made with 4 dimensions: Business Unit, Contract, Location, Activity).
The question with too many dimensions is : how to insert the dimensions for each entry ?
And...don't forget you can analyse only 4 dimensions by Analysis View.My candle burns by both ends, it will not last the night,
But oh my foes and oh my friends, it gives a lovely light0
