End of Year Closing

We are using NAV 2009 W1 version; and we have to change the functionality of End of Year Closing. At the end of year, remaining balances in the account must NOT be move automatically into profit/loss account but must be moved as a manual transaction. Users will have to enter transactions into the system to move the remaining balance into profit/loss account for audit trail purposes.
How do we go about implementing this customization in NAV?

NAV doesn't automatically do it for you. You have to run a process manually to put the entries into a Journal. Then manually post the journal after due dilligence is done on the transactions.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog
