Hello,
Could You please provide information on where DW NavBackup installation made? This will be fixed in next version using Application folder in Document And Settings.
Waiting for Your response.

Hi,
I have downloaded the lastest version of "DW NavBack Lite Beta v1.01B". It works fine. But It can't do backup while another user is using the DB. Basically the user in the DB blocks the backup script logging in. We are using Navision version 3.7 with native database. Do you have a solution to by-pass this issue?
Thanks,
Leon0 -
Please ignore my last question. It was my mistake. It works fine now.
Thanks,
Leon0 -
The Nav backup should work regardless.
Here's how we use it

Hello great coders,
thanks for the great Program.
--But i`ve a little problem with it.
I installed it 2 times on 2 different Servers 2003.
The versions are 4.0 SP3
NavBackuplite Version 1.01B
The first one runs fine, but the other one don`t . (Both with the same instructions)
The backup is OK/zipping is OK/deleting of the file is Ok- but the DB is locked after the backup --like mentioned in the older beta-releases.
If i start the navbackuplite manually -->after the scheduled backup<-- and break it manually for example if the login field is coming--it`s OK--and i`m able to log in
any hints or solutions?
thanks in advance!0 -
 oops--i will change it to Native Server--I`ll give it a try in the evening--I`ll coming back with info :oops:0

I downloaded and installed DW Backup, and tried to use it with a Nav 3.70 SQL database; however, when I press the Test Script button, it opens the database and then closes some 30 seconds later without having done anything.
When I contacted the developer, I was told that the beta version is no longer supported (fair enough, considering that it was free), but there is a commercial version available from navierra.com. When I checked, its price was 320 EUR.Alastair Farrugia0 -
Sorry for non-supporting that old version. Sources for this NavBackup Lite were missed, so we've done commercial fully rewritten software for this purpose with many new features.
Also, I've forgot to mention that You might get discount of 25% as Mibuso or Dynamicsuser member - You need just write us.

Hi!
I've tested your NavBackup Lite program but it doesn't seem to work for me. When I'm trying to run/test the script it crushes in the first step. I have set up everything but when it's trying to start navision then I recieve an error message like "The TCP/IP connection's 'host' is not answering (TCP/IP error ECONNREFUSED). If you have any idea please let me know.0 -
have you tried entering the servers IP address instead of the name in the SERVER NAME field?

Not yet. But thanks for the tip. I can try it only tomorrow.
Best regards,

The problem I have is that I connect to the server because I NAV 2 spaces left behind by the name of the server. This is a bug?0
-
Any idea??0
-
I NAV 2??
Can you explain better what's happening?0 -
when I put the server name in the NavBack is correct, but then when you open the client NAV makes me two spaces behind and are not connecting.
For example:
NavBack -> Server: SRVNAV5
Cliente_NAV5 -> SRVNAV5__0 -
In the general tab - where the server name goes?
or
the extended tab - where you select the company?
I'm not sure I understand what's not connecting.
Have you tried entering the servers IP instead of the name?
here's how we do it
http://savatage99.googlepages.com/MyBackup.pdf
anything further that that you can contact the developer.

I put the server name in general tab-Navision Server - Server Name. Whether you put the name as the IP let me two spaces.0
-
I would contact the developer at the email address above. perhaps he can explain about the spaces you are getting.
are you typing it in or copy & pasting it from somewhere? perhaps you're getting "special characters?"0 -
I just SRVNAV0
