Semi-Quarter and Semester on a Matrix form.

I want to add semi-quarter and semester on two matrix forms. The forms are the 7139 and the 7117. I am thinking to create a second Date table with Period Type (Semi-Quarter, Semester), Period Start, Period End, Period No. and Period Name fields and enter periods for years from 2000 to 2100.
Is there any other easier solution?
Is there any way to do this with the system's DATE table?

Quarter shoud be allready there.
I wouldn't go for creating a new own date table. And modify the system date table isn't possible.
I would try to expand PeriodType by Semester and modify the function FindPeriod."Money is likewise the greatest chance and the greatest scourge of mankind."0
