Can't read PDF on installation medium?

Hi,
When I try to open some(!) of the PDF's on the Nav installation medium, I'm getting this error:
Adobe Reader could not open ...etc... not a supported file type ...etc... or file has been damaged...etc.
I have this on all of the different installtion mediums regardless of which version of Nav I use. I'm using Acrobat 8.
Anyone knows why this happens on so many PDF's or am I the only one with this problem?

Hi,
These are not actually PDFs... ..try opening one with a text editor instead.... ..you'll see what I mean
