Dataporting records from Excel file

Hi!

I want to get my records of vendor & customer from excel file. It is safe to use the MAPPING form in NAV 4 SP3, for Importing data? I hope you can help me.THANKS

    No.

    Never load data directly into ledger.
    Load it into Gen. Jornal line, then post them.

    I will not import data to Gen.Ledger, just in VENDOR table & Customer Table. Is this ok, to use MAPPING form?

    I've seen consultants use it in implementation and it works if done properly.
    I would create one Vendor. And Export it to excel. Look at the all the fields and how they are created, and then populate your data in the subsequent lines.
