The only version that is officially supported is 4.0 SP1. I am sure there are many people who have other versions running as well without problems, but it depends really on what you do with the system. If you're set on using SQL Server 2005, I'd at least upgrade the executables to 4.0 SP1.

I wonder... what about oposite direction?
Does that SQL2005 support 4.0SP1 means also that it is the only version which should be used, or SQL2K can be used as well?

nav 3.6 , 3.7, 4.0 works with sql2005 :) but some errors might occur with integer and bigint (sql view 4 session monitoring, simple CAST resolves the problem)

No version 4.0 SP1 should still work on SQL Server 2000.
