Dear all,
I am quite doubt about the function of scrap % in the item card. my problem describes as follows:
1. replenishment system
item A : purchase order
item B : production order
2.scrap%
item A : 10%; item B = 10%
3. Production BOM scrap%
item A : 10%
4. routing scrap%
M/C center A : 10%
M/C center B : 10%
5. fixed scrap
M/C center A : 10
M/C center B : 10
6. Qty Sales order item B : 200 units
7. Planning worksheet produces:
item A : 313 units
item B : 200 units
the question is why the system doesn't calculate the scrap% of item A ?
is it caused by its replenishment system ? if yes, when will the system use the purchased item scrap% in its calculation? what will be happened if I delete scrap % in BOM and in item A card? #-o #-o :-k

You need to know, that the Scrap% are used to each other. It means, that if you have Scrap% for A 10% and for B 10%, and product C is created from B and B from A, for creating X units of C you need X*1.01 of B and X*1.01*1.01 of A... I think I wrote it correctly, sometime I have problems with this myself... :-)0

I actually try to use the scrap% in the item card in bill of material assembly list, without using MRP standard, but still not work. also, my case here is I want to produce B from A, that's why B's replenishment system is production order, consider these following situations:
1. item scrap % (in the item card) :
Situation 1.
Item A (purchased) : 10%
Item B (produced/product) : 0%
Situation 2.
Item A (purchased) : 0%
item B (product) : 0%
the qty in planning worksheet is
item A : 287 units
item B : 200 units
but the influence item A scrap % is not feasible for me. and your opinion seems unable to apply according to my situation.

Dear All,
I have known what the function of scrap% field in tab replenishment on the item card. It will be used by the system if the item's replenishment selected is production order. Why..? because scrap will be recorded in the capacity ledger entry. Capacity relates to machine or work center. Machine or workcenter is used in routing. Routing used to plan production order and in the MPS Calculation. So, e.g. if the item A has scrap and used routing A, meanwhile item B, no scrap but used routing A too, we must fill scrap in the item card of item A. Don't fill in the routing A.
