Hi,

I am installing Navision 4 with Employee Portal first time.

I have install Navision 4 SP1 and Employee Portal using following steps:

1 Install Microsoft Windows 2003
2 Install Microsoft IIS
3 Install Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1
4 Install Microsoft Message Queueing Services
5 Install Microsoft Sharepoint Services
6 Install Microsoft Visual J# .NET Framework Redistributable Package
7 Install Navision Database Server or SQL Option 4.01
8 Install Navision Client
9 Install NAS
10 Install Navison Employee Portal Front End Components

Installation of above has been completed successfully, I am getting 4 webparts in Sharepoint Site.

But getting following error while selecting "Modify Shared Web Part":

Communication error (10114): No reply received from Back End System (Time Out).

I have tried above installation several times from scratch but getting same error every time.

Where I am wrong?
What is the problem? :-k

Thanks in advance

    Dear All,

I have got the usual error on the website when trying to modify the web part:

Communication error (10114): No reply received from Back End System (Time Out).

The application log shows the following error:

The description for Event ID ( 109 ) in Source ( QD-SQL ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Error receving Backend private key..

When I try to Create Back End Key Pair in Navision, i get the following
    error in Navision :

This message is for C/Al programmers

Could not invoke the member GetPublicKey. The OLE control or Automation server returned an unknown error code :?:

How can I solve this problem ? Thanks in advance !!!

    Hi,

did you install the client WITH the Employee Portal feature.

It seems that the client can not call the automation controller which is used to create the key.

Try to register the file Microsoft.Navision.EmployeePortal.Security.dll with
    this command line:
    regasm Microsoft.Navision.EmployeePortal.Security.dll /tlb: Microsoft.Navision.EmployeePortal.Security.tlb

If you cannot run regasm then you have to include the path to regasm into your environment vars (should be something like in C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4233)

    HTH,

    Hi IHateLinux,

    Thanks for your reply.

I have installed the client with Nep features again,
but still Navision generates the same error when
i try to create the backend key pairs.
Do you have any other suggestions ?

Hi there... i'm where with a little big problem with Employye Portal and i couldn't resolve it with your solutions... i've tried all of them. But there's a little detail that i still don't understand.... where do you create the NEP_user??

The problem that i can't solve is :

The description for Event ID ( 109 ) in Source ( ARQVM001WIN2003-SQL ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: The combination of user ID and password entered is invalid. Try again. ](*,)

    where arqvm001win2003 is my server.

    i'll wait for your response,

    Thanks

    Hi,

Create NEP user in ActiveDirectory user (if you have installed it) and than set NEP_user in Navision groups with full name (Domain\UserName).

Thanks for your help, now EP works fine....
Now I just need to know how the webparts work...
I try to make some connections with a demonstration database, and sometimes i get errors.... like 10114!
Is it from the server? Because sometimes it is too slow.
