Hi to all,

:D Thanks for all your earlier repsonses.

I have a new query.

I have created a new database by the name: abc

I have created new modules into it.
Payroll.
Project Management etc.

Now my query is:

1. How can I deploy this development on a Client Server Network? :-k
2. Will each machine require Navision to be installed on to it? :-k
3. Is there any way of creating exe? :-k
4. How can the clients access my database & developement? :-k

I didn't find anything related to deployment as such. ](*,)
Please Help me. [-o<

Thanks in advance.

    1) Deployment is done through .fob files (exported objects)
    2) You create the file with all objects you need to transfer somewhere (Object designer, select the objects, File - Export)
    3) The customer need to import the objects and replace his old versions
    4) All is described in Treining manuals for Software Developer I
    5) All is more complicated if customer has Report designer or Application builder or Solution developer granule (you need to check which objects are modified by customer and merge the object versions)
    6) Each machine, on which you want to use Navision need to have Navision client installed. Of course exception is when you are connecting to Terminal server and running the Navision there (or over Citrix)
    7) No, there is no way how to "Automatize" the object update (of course, there "are" some ways but too dangerous for live system)
    8) the customer can access your database in ways you allow him. For example he connect into your network through VPN and connect to terminal server and run the Navision etc. It is problem for your IT

Do you have 5 minutes ;-)

Please read the w1w1ism.pdf (Installation & System Management: Microsoft® Business Solutions–Navision® Database Server) that is available in the Doc-folder on the Navision product CD. This will tell you how to install the Navision Database Server and Navision clients.
