I'm Installing Employee portal with no success.
I install :
1.Virtual PC for testing my Employee Portal,My Computer Name : "NAVISION" (with NO JOIN DOMAIN)
2.Windows 2003 Server Std
3.IIS
4.ASP.NET 1.1
5.Message Queuing Services
6.Microsoft SharePoint Services 2.0 (from Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal CD),I'm NOT install SharePoint Server
After this,I can see MSSQL$SHAREPOINT service in Services
7.Microsoft Visual J#.NET 1.1 Redist Package
8.Installing SQL 2000 Server wih SP3a
After this all,Should I configure SharePoint Services? If Yes,How to Configure it(please tell me step by step)? How can I see Team Web Site?Should I configure IIS too?If Yes,How to Configure it(please tell me step by step)?
9.Then,I install Navision Client 4.0 SP1 include with Employee Portal
10.I Open SQL Navision,I make New Database name : Navision4SP1 and restore Demo Database .fbk. I try
to connect it and success with My developer Lisence
11.NAS SP1 include with Employee Portal Component and Name it : NAVISION-CLASSIC(Database Server) and NAVISION-SQL(SQL server)
12.Setup User Profile,For Detail :
12.1 I make new User : NEP_user with blank password in Computer Management and assign it to Administrators Group
12.2 I go to Microsoft Business Solution - Navision Application Server NAVISION-SQL and modify the properties. In Log On tab
I fill NEP_user and blank the password.**Until now I have not started Services yet.**
13.Installing Employee Portal Front End Component, for Detail:
13.1 Automatically,Request message queue host : NAVISION
13.2 Tick mark I'm using IIS's default WebSite.I'm not enter target web part and target in your URL(I let it default)
13.3 When I start to install, there is ERROR : "web.config doesnt exist in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\.".I dont understand
why the documentation for Employee portal not tell about web.config.Please guide me how to solve this?

Hi,
this is because you have not configured SharePoint yet.
After creating and enabling the default web site to host SharePoint sites, then you will have a web.config.
And Navision does not have to explain how SharePoint is installed, because i think that they do not provide any information how you have to install e.g. Windows Server or SQL server?
Information about SharePoint can be found here:

Hi,
Instead of configuring Sharepoint just install it by selecting Typical setup.
I hope that you are installing Windows Sharepoint Service 2 (sp1/sp2).
Doing as above will configure and create web.config and will start sharepoint default website.
