Just a quick question:
Do you find it normal that a windows user who has not been activated inside the navision security module but is a member of the 'System Administrator' Role of SQL can do everything in the Navision database (limited by the licence of course)?
Recap:
The Windows user is a member of the 'System Administrator' role inside SQL Enterprise manager.
The Windows user is not known inside the Navision Security module.
But this user can still log on to the navision SQL Database and do everything the licence of the customer permits.

Now, let's see what we can see.

Yes it is normal. After all,the user is a SQL-admin and (in this case) the Navision DB is a SQL-DB.Regards,Alain Krikilion

not so sure that this is normal, a system administrator does not need access to navision objects and codeing, if you have a sys admin from hell in your company your f$cked. :-k
But, hey, that's my opinion.
Has somebody tested this in older navision versions?

I'd consider this fairly normal, as a sys admin you need access to everything. Can you delegate certain access to people (like you can with AD) in SQL?Julian Harper

If you have a sys admin from hell anywhere, you're fucked anywhere. That is the reason you have to be friendly to your sys admins!
The MIBUSO sysadmin is the best!
It is the same with the older Navision versions.Regards,Alain Krikilion
