Blocking Access to certain company

Hi!

I got 2 Company Names sharing one Database in Navison 3.7(run on Win2003 Svr Edition + Sql 2000). What i want to do is to block all the users from accessing one of the Company except one or two users. So what is the fastest and easier where to achieve this? Any idea?

Thks!

you can set their user group premission to be company specific, so for the user who access everything, don't enter any company, and for the rest enter just the company they can access.

Be careful you don't accidentally set the super user(s) to only access one company :)

Hi! Thks for the reply, Do you mean i go to

Tools>Security>roles> From the Role ID windows, Go to Role>Database Logins and change the company name from there? This continues with other Role id.

Pls correct me if i'm wrong. Thks!

I think once you start assigning companies to users, Navision will check and make sure that there is at least one SUPER user for all companies. I can remember a posting by someone who had only one user, and it would not let them set company filters.
