Hi All
Looking for your help in the following point...

I have setup Replication Server (in Navision 3.7 & LS Retail 3.75) & it is working fine in Local LAN.

I have a Dial-Up Modem connectivity between my HeadOffice & Store1. I used Hyper Terminal & the dial up modem connection is also working fine.

How should I setup Replication Server for Dial-Up Connection? What I have to give in DB Path & Name in Distribution Location?

Regards,
Soumya

Replication server is used to replicate the database from one location to another. It is actually matching the database at both ends. HO & Store will have navision systems running at both ends, it requires to replicate the database at periodic intervals. This requires matching tables at both ends.

To set up a Dial-up connection, you will have to install Dynamic IP Service on both side of the connection (f.e. NoIP.com) in order to initiate a duplex replication. After the installation a DUC service will be running on both servers, checking the current IP address.

You will have to set this address (f.e "dinamicloc.noip.org") at the address on the Distribution Location setup. Of course be aware to leave the native port (default is 1407, can be changed) open on both sides. You doesn't need to enter the port address, only the dynamic IP-address (f.e "dinamicloc.noip.org")

Do you have a Dial-up modem and a router installed or only singe-modem connection between the store and the HO :?:

If you need further help, don't hesitate to email me.
