can anyone tell me please if installing Navision Application Server on the same server as the Navision Database Server , or installing it on a completely separate dedicated server makes a difference?
Yes it makes a difference . If you install it on the same server, it has to share resources as the database server. If you install it on different machines it won't have to share resources.
Now if your server is a huge one with gigs and gigs of RAM and computer power up the wazoo, and it is nicely able to handle both apps, there's nothing to worry about. We do recommend putting them on separate servers though.
