Dear Mibusoer,
When I creating a new DB from scratch by using create new db from Nav 4.0 , why the table $<companyname>$tablename is not listed in the database? And when i opened the db, I do not see any menu.
How to make a Navision database from scracth? I mean for new navision instalation. :?:
TIA
Michael

Second step after creating database is
a) restore some backup (for example backup of cronus DB)
or
b) create some new company, import objects, do all the setup needed to work (BIG piece of work) and fill it with data (import, manually etc.)
If you only create database, there are no objects, no data, no company...0 -
Creating a new database will just create a blank database, ie it will have nothing within it.
After you have created one you then restore a backup into the database which has all of the design elements like tables, codeunits, forms, reports ect, it will also normally have all the data as well.
Once you have restored that, and only if you've just restored the design, you'll need to create a company.Julian Harper

So i must restore by using the demo database and create a new company. Then delete the Cronus.
But when I deleting the Cronus, does it will also delete the data demo? Since is useless?
So it would be nice If i already create a new empty db and company to make a copy and backup.
Thanx for your Info.
And for Kine, when u say about importing object, u mean by importing the fob one by one? Thanx for your answer0 -
1) Make a backup of the demo database, but only backup the objects
2) Create the database
3) Restore the backup into the new database
4) Create a new company
You now have a blank database with all of the objects from the demo database.Julian Harper

Remember there are a lot of settings that you might want in the demo databaseNavision developer0
