It's the other way around really. The UK database is based on the WW database, so you'd end up with a UK database anyway, so why not just use a standard Cronus UK one?

There are no modifications in WW. There are modifications in the UK db. WW is base version for all local versions... all local DB are including WW with additional modifications for local market... :-)

    Hi Ajay

Can u please tell me as well how u done it...coz i m also having the same problem. Actually i have to merge (or u can say add) the Indian customization to 4.0 W1 version. And when i try to merge both database's objects it gives me the license problem. It showz that u don't have the permission to create the filed with xyz number. Is there any need for any other license apart form my own developer license.

    Thanx in advance

It is problem of license, because you are not able to add fields within 10000..20000 through text file. You need to use fob file for merging the tables - search this forum, I post somewhere the description of this permission problem when merging.

But main question is: Why you need to do that? There is no Indian version for 4.0?

    Hi kine

    Thnx for your quick reply.

Actually our client in Switzerland is using that W1 4.0 database and now they open some outlets in India. And the client want to Implement that project in India according to Indian local customization (coz of taxes n all that). The problem is that the database (Switzerland W1) is having lots of customization and v couldn't Import that customization to Indian version, so v have to Import the Indian customization to that W1 Database.

The Objects that Navision India adds in W1 version to make it IN version is start from the range of 13000 to 17000 and there is no problem when v import those objects in W1 version. But the main problem comes in around 100+ objects where Navision India add some fields or coding to W1 version objects (like customer , vendor table etc).

And for those 100+ objects v have to manually merge the W1 and IN version and for that v have to export them as txt and compare them.

I know that if i m able to convert them in Fob format then it wouldn't generate any license error. But as i said i have to manually compare n merge those objects and i don't think there is any option to manually merge or compare fob files.

I hope this time u better understand the problem. :D

If you read my post about that, there is step by step how to do that.

    1) You know, that you need to add the fields through fob
    2) You know, that you need to merge objects through txt file
    3) You know, that you are not able to create the fields through txt file
    4) You know, that when you are importing fob file, you can select merge action for the table

    Solution:

    A) Import fob file, select merge action - the fields will be created
    B) Merge the text files
    C) Import the text file - because the fields are there (because step A) Navision do not need to create them and you have no license problem.

    Is it clear now?
