Access from C/SIDE to ordinary SQL-table outside of Navision

I'm in need of an example on how I can read and write to a table in a SQL-table on SQL Server 2000. That is a table outside the Navision tables in another database.
I suspect that I'm gonna need the use of an Automation Control, but witch one, and how do I access it from C/SIDE?
