Lot No and Expiration date

I am installing version 4.0 at a customer. I have a tracking specification code for Lot. That tracking specification has
Lot Specific tracking - No
Lot Purchase tracking - Yes both inbound and outbound
Lot Sales tracking - Yes both inbound and outbound
On the Misc tab, I have checked Man expiration date reqd.
The user can not post receive and invoice because when the expiration date is entered, code unit 22 hangs up on a "get" to the table 6505 Lot No. Information table because there is no entry in that table.
any ideas?

In this case you need to check "Lot No. Info Must Exist" and for each Lot no you are working with you need to create the Lot No. Information record.0
