Is it true that a ERP solution run in browser is faster than a ERP solution run via a web-client?

Is there any other technologies that will aid the speed of accessing the ERP solution to be faster than using browser? Someone mentioned to me that they can design a "web form" so that it will run faster than browser and i wonder how true is this.

A 'Web Form' is nothing more than a regular browser page, but based on the .NET framework. Using that technology, regular controls, like buttons and listboxes and other types of controls are available on html pages, so they look like a windows form. Because you access these things through the web, they are called 'web forms'.
