Dear Sirs,

Is there a way to kill navision sessions on a native Database?

We use navision atian 3.60 on a native database. But when a navision clients looses connection in any way the session is not killed. Wich means one license became unusable.

If this happens a few times then we do not have enough licenses anymore. So I need to ask everybody to quit working in navision so I can restart the navision service so that all licenses are back available.

It would be verry helpfull that I could disconnect certain users from navision instead of restarting the full service.

Just pressing F4 on a session is not working so is there another way? or a tool avialable? I know there are tools is you use SQL server but nothing for native.

best regards

And thank you.

Sorry, on 3.60 no... on 4.00 yes.

But there is registry hack which will change the time for the session timeout:
How to change KeepAliveTime in WIN NT

The KeepAliveTime is an adjustable parameter where you can decide how often NAVISION and NAVISION Financials will check for a "dead" client.

The NAVISION server and NAVISION Financials server uses the TCP/IP keep alive packet, to find out If a client beaks down, or the user shuts it off.

Look for KeepAliveTime on Microsoft site...

You can find how to set this on the internet. Do not forget to restart the PC after change in the registry...
