Memory Used

Usually how much memory does Navision use up? This morning when our accounting department tried to post the sales order and do the credit adjustment and the system didn't run at all and they were dead when doing the posting. I checked the server and found Navision used up 1.6 GB memeory. So after I reboot the server, the accoutning department could do the posting, but it's very slow. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thanks in advance!

It is strange, because Navision server can use max. 800MB cache (or something around this value) + app data... It seems that you will need debug the posting to see, what it is doing. It seems like some big changes in database.

Please, write the Navision version you are using...

Kamil, Our Navision is 4.0 with ServicePack 1. Would you please tell me what caused this problem and how to permanently solve this problem?

i guess the easiest way is for you to post some info about your server. Is this the first slowdown or has it always been slow?

Database size, Mem, Disk Configuration (RAID), Cache size, Native or SQL, # of users. Is anything else running on this server or is it dedicated to navision?

Please, check settings in Inventory module about the Adjust Cost batch, if you have set the option to Always. If yes, it means that if you are posting something, system run 1. adjust cost batch - and if you did not run the batch for long time, it can consume resources... It is new option for SP1... if you want old behavior (running the adjust batches manually) set the option to Never.
